Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum -

Located near Washington Dulles International Airport, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is the companion to the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall. The Center displays rare aviation and space artifacts, including the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird - fastest jet in the world- and Boeing B-29 Superfortress Enola Gay. View floor displays and aircraft hanging from the arched ceiling on elevated skywalks.

Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts -

America's National Park for the Performing Arts, Wolf Trap presents exciting entertainment and music, including pop, country, folk, blues, jazz, orchestra, dance, theater, and opera. Enjoy world-class performances and concerts at the 6,800-seat indoor/outdoor theater at the Filene Center, an idyllic setting of rolling hills and lush woods.

Claude Moore Park -

Set on 357 acres in Sterling, Claude Moore Park is a haven for recreation with green spaces, hiking trails, ponds, meadows, and forests. The Sportsplex has baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, and football fields, and Claude Moore Recreation Center. The nature area offers 11 miles of hiking trails, fishing ponds, picnic pavilions, an amphitheater, a nature center, and Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum.

Ashburn Ice House -

The most exciting ice skating facility on the East Coast, the Ashburn Ice House offers two NHL size ice skating rinks, a video arcade, restaurant, and a pro shop. Washington and Old Dominion Trail -

The Washington and Old Dominion Trail is a 45-mile multi-use rail-trail in Northern Virginia used for biking, rollerblading, walking, jogging and birdwatching. There is also a parallel 32-mile stone and dirt path uses for horseback riding and hiking. Converted in 1974 from the W&OD Railroad, built before the Civil War, the trail runs from Shirlington to rural Purcellville, through historic towns and past old houses and African American sites.
